Why Ruto is Called Bill

William Samoei Ruto, Kenya’s President Elect, has been referred to as ‘Bill’ on several occasions. This has starred alot of concerns on why he is referred to with this name.

The name Bill has been used by his wife, Rachel Ruto causing many people to wonder why she keeps referring his Hubby as Bill.

Below are some of the instances in which President Ruto has been referred to as ‘Bill’

Birthday Wishes

On the 55th Birthday of William Ruto, Rachel Ruto described him in affirmative words as below;

“This day forever remains special. As we celebrate your birthday and our wedding anniversary, I can confidently say, Ebenezer – This far has the Lord brought us. You’re a true friend, confidant and wonderful father to our children.
Words cannot quantify the love and support you have shown. Happy birthday, and happy Anniversary Bill. I wish you God’s abundant blessings and exceeding success in all your hearts desires,”

on Monday 5th after the Supreme Court of Kenya upheld Ruto’s Victory, Rachel Ruto again congratulated her husband calling him ‘Bill’ once again.

In another instance after he was declared the President Elect by Wafula Chebukati, Rachel Ruto again referred him as Bill. Below is the message by Rachel Ruto on 15th of August

Why the name Bill?

Though it is yet to be determined why exactly William Ruto is referred to as Bill, our investigations indicate that this could be a nickname Rachel Ruto used to call his hubby since their young age as a term of love.

Note that in most cases, Rachel Ruto uses the name ‘Bill’ while expressing affirmative and love words. This is, therefore, the main reason he is referred to as ‘Bill’.
