Jasprit Bumrah career began as a domestic cricket where he played first-class-class cricket for Gujarat and made his debut against Vidarbha in October 2013. The game enabled him to pick up 7 Wickets in the match and ended the tournament as the side’s leading Wicket-taker. He again made his T20 debut against Maharashtra in 2012-13 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and helped his side clinch the title with his Man of the Match performance with figure 3/14. He was again named in India’s Test squad for their series against South Africa where he made his Test debut for India against South Africa at Newlands in Cape Town in 2018. He took his maiden five-Wicket haul in Test with figures 5/54 in the 3rd Test Match of India Tour of South Africa at Johannesburg. On the Boxing Day Test of India Tour of Australia 2018, he took his 3rd five-Wicket haul in Tests with a figure of 6/33, which wrapped up Australia’s first innings on 151. That made him become the first Asian to take the five-wicket hauls in Australia, England, and South Africa in the same calendar year. He finished the series as the highest wicket-taker with 21 wickets overall. As the year ended, he finished with 48 wickets which were recorded for an Indian bowler in his debut year in Test cricket.
His good performance made him be named in the World Test XI and ODI XI by the ICC. Bumrah was also named in 2019 in India’s squad for the Cricket World Cup and the International Cricket Council [ICC] named him as one of the five exciting talents making their Cricket World Cup debut.
