Cassper Nyovest was born on 16 December 1990 in Montshioa, Mahikeng, North West Province in South Africa. His real name, as well as his birth name, is Refiloe Maele Phoolo. He was born to his father, known as Letsebela Phoolo, and his mother, known as Muzuki Phoolo.

Cassper has 2 siblings one is his late brother, who died in 2003, known as Khotso Phoolo, and his sister, known as Tsholofelo Phoolo. He got raised back at Montshioa together with his siblings in his early life.
