Timothy Kimani Ndegwa, alias Njugush is a popular Kenyan comedian and also a creator of online content. He rose to fame after he was one of the cast members of the KTN drama-comedy, The Real House Helps of Kawangware. His online content always goes viral, and he has a lot of followers on his various social media platforms.
Currently, Njugush is running a stand-up comedy show together with his wife Celestine mainly known as Wakavinye. This show is known as ‘Through Thick ‘N’ Thin’ (TTNT). The show has hit milestones through its popularity growing and tickets selling at a fast rate.
Biography and Early Life
Njugush was born in Meru County, Kenya, on 20 May 1991. His real name is Timothy Kimani Ndegwa. He is the first son of Rev Bernard Ndegwa and Jane Njambi. His father is a reverend at the PCEA Church, while his mother is a businesswoman. His younger brother is Ngugu Ndegwa, who is a poet, writer, and author, and his recent book includes, Across and Beyond.
His family lived in different places because of the nature of his father’s job. They have lived in places like Nguriunditu in Kikuyu, Joska in Ruai, Kikuyu Town, Mau Narok, Eldoret and many other places.
Njugush has disclosed that he was raised in a strict Christian family. He and his brother recall that they had to remain in the church until the end of the service, which mostly went up to 1 pm.
Education: High School and College
Because his father kept on being transferred from one place to another, Njugush attended eight different primary schools. He later enrolled at Naaro High School in Murang’a in 2005 until 2009. His younger brother joined the same school when he was in form four.
He is a graduate of Kenya Institute of Mass Communication (KIMC), where he studied journalism. His brother studied Arts in Sociology from Maseno University.
Personal Life
Njugush is a married man. He married Celestine Ndinda, alias Wakavinye in 2016. Their wedding was at PCEA Evergreen, in Runda, Nairobi and later reception at the same place. The wedding was attended by many popular celebrities in Kenya like Abel Mutua, Catherine Kamau, alias Celina, and Phillip Karanja.
The couple welcomed their first son known as Tugi who was born on 10th March, 2018. The young boy has been featured in many of their videos. Furthermore, Tugi has been featured on YouTube through his Youtube Channel known as Blessed Tugi that has more than 125k Subscribers.
Njugush disclosed that when he met his girlfriend, he was not financially stable and even slept on a mat because he could not afford a bet. She stayed with him and even encouraged him that hard times will not last and even promised to be with him for the rest of her life. He is now a happy man because he can afford to spoil her and even sponsor her a trip to Dubai on her birthday.

After former Tahidi High actor Abel Mutua saw one of his plays he had done in 2011, he approached him and wanted him to be part of a show he was starting called “Hapa Kule.” The show gained huge popularity on YouTube and later became a show on its own.
He was one of the main characters of the TV comedy “Real House Helps of Kawangware”, which was aired on KTN. This is the show that brought his name to fame. He regularly uploads rib-cracking content on YouTube, which has attracted a lot of followers.
