Mark Angel is a very popular Nigerian comedian, scriptwriter, and video producer. He is also a YouTube personnel better known for the short films on YouTube, Mark Angel comedy. He features together with Emmanuella Samuel, his cousin who is ten years and her cousin “Aunty” Success Madubuike, who is seven years. Mark’s channel is the first African comedy channel to have over one million subscribers.
Biography and Early Life
Mark Angel was born on 27 May 1991 in Port Harcourt, River State in Nigeria. He has not shared much information concerning his family background other than that he grew up together with his two siblings.
Education
The educational background of Mark Angel is very shallow because he has not disclosed the schools he attended at the primary and high school levels. After high school, he joined Obafemi Awolowo University for a medicine course. He was sponsored by his uncle, but a few months later, he died, leaving Mark with no one to pay for his school fees. He decided to drop out of school and spent his savings to study cinematography and theatre, although he did not get a stable job in Nollywood. In 2013, he began independent filmmaking under the name Mechanic Pictures.

Professional Career
Mark started his professional career with the Nollywood film industry as a Director of Photography and movie editor. The little pay he received could not sustain his needs, so he quit after some time. He met his friend, Dennison Igwe, and the two started their own Film Production House in 2013 when they also launched their company, Mechanic Pictures. Earlier, Mark and his friend had produced several films, although they were unsuccessful. His mother, who is an evangelist, also disapproved of the videos.
Now, Mechanic Pictures was established, becoming the production house where they would create a video for skits and photos. They shared them on YouTube. Mark launched his YouTube channel, MarkAngelComedy, on 29 June 2013. Here, he shared several skit videos that were hilarious before finally releasing “Am Not Around,” which increased the number of subscribers in his channel. The number rose to over 1 million subscribers. The skit was his 36th and featured Emmanuella, among other comedians. Emmanuella happens to be one of the longest actors in Mark Angel’s comedy. She started appearing in his videos after she successfully appeared in an 18 hour-long video better than other children. He convinced her parents to allow her to join the comedy industry. She happens to be the winner of Africa’s Youngest “YouTube” Award.
He also writes comedy scripts for other authors and gets paid. His comedy style is Freestyle Comedy and currently has over 4 million subscribers on the YouTube channel and 5 million followers on Facebook.
